Ingredients

  • 250 gm chicken
  • 5 slices bread edges removed, cut into four pieces
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • ½ tsp ginger paste
  • 1/3 tsp black pepper powder
  • 3 tbsp onions finely chopped
  • 3 pieces green chilies broken into half
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 1/3 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce
  • Water an adequate amount
  • 1 tbsp refined oil

Instructions

  • Take 5 slices of white bread. Remove their edges. Cut them into four parts.
  • Take 250 gm of chicken (preferably chicken breast) and slice it into small pieces. Take a mixer grinder and put the chicken pieces in it.
  • Add the bread pieces. Break one egg in it.
  • Now, add 1 tsp of garlic paste and ½ tsp of ginger paste to it.
  • Follow it with 1/3 tsp of black pepper powder, 3 tbsp of finely chopped onions, and 3 pieces of fresh green chilies, broken into half.
  • Then add 2 tbsp of finely chopped fresh coriander leaves, 1/3 tbsp of regular table salt, ½ tsp of red chili flakes, 1 tbsp of dark soya sauce, and 1 tbsp of tomato sauce to it.
  • Blend it to a fine paste. Transfer it to a bowl.
  • Heat an adequate amount of water in a frying pan. Take a fistful of chicken paste in your hand. Use a spoon to cut small balls while pressing the paste. Release them in water. (Pro tip: Wear a plastic glove while performing this step. This will ensure the smooth flow of the chicken paste out of your fist).
  • Let the chicken balls boil for 10 minutes. Remove them.
  • Put them on a strainer and wait till they are cool. Now, press them a bit so that the excess water drains off.
  • Now, take another frying pan and heat 1 tbsp of refined oil in it. Put the chicken balls in it.
  • Fry the balls for about 10 minutes on a very low flame until they turn light brown in color. Remove them.
  • Your tasty and spicy homemade chicken balls are ready to serve. Put them in a bowl and serve hot.

Notes

I use lean chicken breast for a healthier and softer texture of the chicken balls.
I prefer removing the edges of bread slices for a smoother mixture.
Use a good mixer grinder to blend the chicken and bread evenly.
Do not skip the egg. The egg helps hold the chicken balls together.
Blend everything well for a uniform and soft texture.
