Take 2 cups of water in a kadai or a pan and boil it with 1 tsp of salt. When it does, put 1.5 cups of jowar flour and stir it continuously to make a thick paste of it. Now, turn off the stove, cover the pan with a lid and let it sit for about 10 minutes to cool down.
Check the consistency and softness of the dough after 10 minutes.
Transfer the dough paste to a bowl and knead it nicely to make the final soft dough.
Make as many dough balls you need. (Pro tip: The dough balls to make jowar roti should be slightly bigger than the balls to make traditional atta rotis).
Take one dough ball and coat it nicely with dry flour.
Roll it to make a roti. It must be a bit thick.
The shape of the roti may not be perfectly round. Use a cutter to get a perfectly round roti.
Make all the rotis and keep them aside on a plate.
Now, heat a tawa nicely on a high flame. When it is hot, turn the flame to medium to low and place a roti on the tawa. Let it cook for a minute.
Flip the roti to cook the other side for another minute.
Flip it a couple of times and the roti will start puffing up. Once it is cooked nicely on both the sides, apply a bit of ghee on it and brush it nicely on both the sides.
Repeat the steps to make all the rotis, put them on a plate, garnish with a few coriander leaves and enjoy them hot with any side dish of your choice.
