Take a frying pan and heat it on a medium flame on your gas oven or cooktop.
On the hot pan, add 4 tbsp of cumin seeds, 1 tbsp of carom seeds, ½ tsp cloves, and 1 tsp of black pepper.
Stir the spices occasionally for about 3 to 4 minutes till you hear the crackling noise and smell the aroma of roasted spices.
When the color of the spices changes to brown or golden brown, turn the flame of your gas oven or your induction oven off. Make a space at the center.
In the frying pan at the center, add ¼ tsp of asafetida.
Mix it with the spices so that it also gets cooked in the still-hot pan.
Now, add 2 tbsp dry mint leaves powder.
Mix it as well so that it gets dry roasted as well.
Add 2 tsp table salt to the ingredients on the frying pan.
Also add 2 tsp of black salt into it.
Mix everything nicely.
Leave the pan aside for some time so that the spices cool off. You may also transfer it onto a plate if you wish.
Now, when the spices are cool enough, transfer the ingredients into a grinder.
Finally, grind the spices well till you get a fine powder. Your lassi masala powder is ready to be added in pinches to lassi, raita, chat, or salad.
