Tulsi Tea | Basil Tea | Tulsi Chai

Tulsi tea is made by boiling Tulsi or basil leaves along with cardamom and ginger in water before adding tea leaves and milk.

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 tbsp tea leaves
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 6 pieces Basil leaves Tulsi
  • 2 pieces green cardamom
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Instructions
 

  • Heat 1.5 cups of water in a saucepan and add 6 pieces of Basil leaves (Tulsi), 2 pieces of green cardamom, and about 1 tsp ginger (grated). Boil it for 3 to 4 minutes on a medium flame.
  • When the water comes to a roll boil, add 1.5 tbsp of tea leaves and boil for another 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Now, add a cup of milk and 2 tbsp of sugar.
  • Again, boil it for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Your healthy and homemade Tulsi chai is ready. Strain it in a cup.
  • Serve it hot with biscuits and enjoy.

Notes

I have used regular CTC tea leaves to make this chai. You can use any variety.
Use fresh and green Tulsi leaves to make this tea.
Always boil the water first and then add tea leaves and milk. This enhances the flavor of Tulsi.
