Capsicum Besan Sabzi

Capsicum besan sabzi combines fresh capsicum cooked with roasted gram flour and a mixture of spices that includes cumin seeds, fennel seeds, hing and multiple powdered spices. The dish includes dry mango powder as an ingredient, which provides a sour flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 pieces capsicum deseeded, cut into small diamond pieces
  • 4 tsp besan gram flour
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds jeera
  • ½ tsp fennel seeds saunf
  • ¼ tsp asafetida hing
  • ½ tsp coriander seed powder
  • ¼ tsp red chili powder
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp dry mango powder amchur

Instructions
 

  • Cut 4 pieces of capsicum into small diamond pieces.
  • Dry roast 4 tsp of besan (gram flour).
  • Fry ½ tsp of cumin seeds (jeera) and ½ tsp of fennel seeds (saunf) in 1 tbsp cooking oil. Add ¼ tsp asafetida (hing).
  • Add capsicum.
  • Add ½ tsp of coriander seed powder, ¼ tsp of red chili powder, ¼ tsp of turmeric powder, salt to taste, and ½ tsp of dry mango powder (amchur).
  • Mix roasted besan.
  • Your tasty and healthy capsicum besan sabzi is ready.

Notes

Use fresh capsicum when you make this dish. It will add to the taste.
I always roast the besan. It removes moisture and the raw smell from it.
Do not cook the dish for a long time after adding the besan.
