Egg bread pakora is one of those quick and soothing Indian snacks that is made with thin slices of soft milk bread dipped in a lightly spiced egg mixture and shallow-fried till crispy and golden.
Add ¼ tsp of turmeric powder, ¼ tsp of red chili powder, ¼ tsp of salt, ½ tsp of roasted cumin seeds powder, 1 tsp of finely chopped green chilies and coriander leaves to it and mix them nicely with the egg.
Take 8 slices of milk bread and cut them diagonally and put them on a plate beside the egg mixture for convenience.
Now, heat a pan over a high flame and pour an adequate amount of cooking oil in it. When the oil is hot, reduce the flame to medium to low. Dip each bread slice in the egg mixture to coat it nicely from all sides.
Put them in oil to fry. Allow it to fry on one side about a 15 to 20 seconds before flipping each to the other side. Remove them from the pan when they turn to a nice golden-brown color and put them on a plate.
Your crispy and tasty homemade egg bread pakoras are ready to enjoy. Garnish them with a few chopped coriander leaves and serve them hot with a bowl of tomato ketchup.
Instead of using milk bread like me, you can use regular or sandwich bread to make the pakoras.I have cut the bread slices diagonally but you can cut them horizontally if you want.Always heat the oil on a high flame but fry the pakoras on a low to medium flame. This will prevent burning the exterior quickly.Avoid putting too many pakoras at a time in the oil. It will overcrowd the pan and make it difficult to flip them and may even break them in the process.
