Instructions

  • Take a bowl and put 3 pieces of boiled, peeled, and mashed potatoes along with 50 gm of finely chopped beans, 100 gm of finely chopped carrots, 30 gm of finely chopped capsicum, and 200 gm of grated paneer. Then add 2 tsp of chili powder and salt to taste, followed by 100 gm of breadcrumbs.
  • Mix them very nicely.
  • Take a small portion of the mixture in your hand. Make a ball. Insert an ice cream stick in it very carefully. Shape it like a lollypop. Repeat the process to shape all of them and keep aside.
  • Now, to make the slurry, take another bowl and put 50 gm of refined wheat flour (maida), 50 gm of corn flour, and a pinch of salt. Mix hem nicely. Then, add water as needed.
  • Mix everything nicely to make a smooth slurry. Check the consistency and add water gradually.
  • Put each lollypop in the slurry. Coat it nicely from all sides saving the ice cream sticks.
  • Now, heat an adequate amount of cooking oil in a pan on a high flame. Put each of the lollypops in it carefully in the hot oil. Flip occasionally.
  • Remove the lollypops when they turn to a nice golden-brown color. Keep them aside on a plate.
  • To make the sauce, heat 2 tbsp of cooking oil in a frying pan. Then, put 2 tbsp of finely chopped garlic in it when hot. Stir it for a minute to remove the raw smell of the garlic.
  • Now, add 50 gm of regular tomato ketchup. Mix it nicely and cook for half a minute. When done, turn off the gas stove.
  • Then add 50 ml of honey and mix it nicely. Transfer it to a bowl.
  • Wrap the exposed ice cream sticks with silver foil paper, and, finally, coat each paneer lollypop nicely with the sauce from all sides.
  • Your homemade delicious paneer lollypops are now eventually ready. Arrange the them on a plate and serve alongside the remaining sauce with some fresh coriander leaves for additional freshness and visual appeal.

Notes

I opt for a same amount of maida and corn flour to make the slurry. It offers a lovely crunchiness to the paneer lollypops.
If you want your paneer lollypops to be spicier, you could even add half a teaspoon of black pepper powder and a chunk of dry red chili powder in the slurry combination.
I advocate adding water progressively after checking the consistency of the slurry because it must not be too thick or too runny.
Do not fry too many lollypops in the oil at a time. A batch of two lollypops at a time is just desirable. This will allow for easy flipping or even frying.
You could skip making the sauce and serve the paneer lollypops hot along with a bowl of classic tomato ketchup.
