Paneer Pepper Fry

Paneer pepper fry is made with fresh paneer pieces that are first marinated with salt, crushed black pepper, aromat powder, ginger garlic paste and coated with corn flour and maida before frying twice until crispy. Veggies like onions, capsicum, bell pepper, and spring onions are also added and cooked with finely chopped ginger, garlic, and green chilies.

Ingredients
  

To marinate paneer:

  • 200 grams paneer cut into small cubes
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper crushed
  • ¼ tsp aromat powder
  • ½ tsp ginger garlic paste

To coat the marinated paneer cubes:

  • 3 tsp corn flour
  • 1 tsp refined wheat flour

Veggies to add:

  • ½ piece onion cut into diamond shape
  • ½ piece capsicum cut into diamond shape
  • ½ piece red bell pepper cut into diamond shape
  • ½ piece yellow bell pepper cut into diamond shape

To deep fry the coated paneer cubes:

  • Cooking oil an adequate amount

To fry the vegetables:

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic finely chopped
  • ½ tsp ginger finely chopped
  • 1 tsp green chilies finely chopped

To cook paneer with the vegetables:

  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper crushed
  • ¼ tsp aromat powder
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp spring onions finely chopped

Instructions
 

  • Marinate small cubed pieces of 200 grams of paneer with ¼ tsp of salt, ½ tsp of black pepper (crushed), ¼ tsp of aromat powder, and ½ tsp of ginger garlic paste.
  • Coat them with 3 tsp of corn flour and 1 tsp of refined wheat flour.
  • Cut ½ a piece of onion, capsicum, red and yellow bell pepper into diamond shape.
  • Fry the paneer cubes until crispy and golden.
  • Fry 1 tbsp of garlic, ½ tsp of ginger and 1 tsp of green chilies, all finely chopped, in 1 tbsp of cooking oil. Add the vegetables.
  • Fry the paneer cubes again. Add them to the vegetables.
  • Add ¼ tsp of salt, ¼ tsp of black pepper (crushed), ¼ tsp of aromat powder, 1 tsp of white vinegar and 1 tbsp of finely chopped spring onions. Transfer it to a plate when done.
  • Your tasty and spicy homemade paneer pepper fry is ready.

Notes

Always use fresh paneer and fry the pieces twice to make this dish. Flash frying paneer pieces adds to the crunchiness.
I add crushed black pepper to marinate the paneer. It renders better taste than the powder variant.
Marinating paneer is crucial. It allows for proper flavor infusion of spices and enhances the taste.
Paneer is usually very soft. Use soft hands to mix the spices with paneer pieces, or else they will break.
I recommend using a mixture of refined wheat flour and corn flour to coat the paneer cubes. It will add to the crunchiness.
