Take a frying pan and pour 2 glasses of water in it. Wait until the water comes to a boil. When it does, add 1 tbsp of regular table salt and 1 tbsp of vinegar to it. Mix them nicely with the water and let it boil.
In the meantime, take a small bowl, preferably made of stainless steel. Brush it with a little bit of oil. This will make it easy to take out the poached eggs from the bowls. (Pro tip: Since I am making one egg poach, I have taken one bowl. If you are making two or more, take more bowls. You can also use one bowl a number of times, but that will be time-consuming. Make sure the bowls are of stainless steel as you will need to put them in hot water to cook the eggs).
Take a little bit of hot water in the bowl. Break the egg very carefully so that you do not break the egg yolk. (Pro tip: You need not add any more salt to it because the water already is saline and the vinegar will do the rest. Do not worry about the egg white spreading on the water because the vinegar added to the water will hold it together).
Put the bowl with the egg into the pan with boiling water. Cover the pan to cook the egg for a minute. Now, remove the cover and let the egg cook for another 5 to 6 minutes on a medium flame. (Pro tip: Do not cook the egg with the cover for a long time or else the egg yolk will become hard).
When done and the egg white becomes thick and solidifies, turn the flame of your gas stove off and take out the bowl very carefully from the pan with a pair of tongs.
Put the bowl on a plate. Use a small plastic spatula to take out the egg poach and put it on the plate.
Serve it hot.
