I got this recipe from my elder son’s drawing teacher. During the annual day, she brought a big pot of tea for the volunteers. I helped serve and ended up tasting a bit myself. It was incredible. I asked for the recipe, and she laughed, “It is my color therapy.”

I made it at home the next day. My husband loved its cheerful taste, and my sons said it felt “artsy.” Now, it is our special evening tea. That moment reminded me that creativity is not limited to chart paper; sometimes, it is stirred in pots and served with joy.

Notes

I have taken 400 ml of milk, which is just enough to make 2 cups of Elaichi chai. You can increase the amount as per your requirement.
I have used CTC tea. You can use any variety of tea leaves to make Elaichi chai.
Stir the milk continuously to prevent spilling or burning.
I have used half water and half milk to make Elaichi chai, but you may not add any water to the milk if you want.
Do not boil the tea for long after adding tea leaves. Boiling for a minute is just enough.
