- The powder will enhance the taste of a variety of dishes such as masala fish fry, tandoori fish tikka, spicy fish curry, fish biryani, fish kebabs, and stir-fried fish.
- Fish fry powder typically tastes spicy and umami. The heat is perfectly balanced with a hint of tanginess.
- A few powders that may offer a similar taste to your fish dishes include fish curry powder, fish masala powder, a traditional masala mix, regular curry powder, or a combination of garlic and onion powder.

Notes
- Use fresh spices and other ingredients to make this powder at home. You may alter the ratios according to your taste preference if you want to personalize your powder.
- Roast the spices perfectly on a low flame. Stir them continuously to prevent burning and remove them when they slightly change color and release their natural aroma.
- Cool the ingredients before grinding to prevent clumping due to condensation. Also ensure all utensils you use are perfectly dry.
- I prefer using a traditional mortar & pestle for grinding the ingredients. You may use an electric grinder but remember the motor of the grinder will generate heat. So, grind intermittently.
- Check the texture while grinding. You may have to grind for a longer time if you want a finer texture. However, I recommend leaving it coarse like me since it adds a different depth.
