A close relative once invited us one evening when she offered this as a starter with a hot cup of tea. The cutlets were soft and tasty but I especially liked the vegetable content in them. I wanted to make it at home so that my two sons have vegetables without fuss. So, I asked her the recipe and noted it down with all the details and expert suggestions on a piece of paper.

I recreated them in my kitchen the next weekend, and my sons were overwhelmed having them with their hot glass of milk and Horlicks in the evening after games. My husband also liked the taste and was happy to see the children are actually enjoying eating vegetables. Their happiness was so satisfying, and I thanked my relative for sharing the recipe with me.

Notes

A regular variety of oats can be used to make the cutlets if rolled oats are not available.
Oats mixed with curd makes them healthier and easy to digest.
Adding spinach is recommended for healthier cutlets but you can use chopped coriander leaves along with it for flavor.
Paneer in the recipe helps in binding. You may also use gram flour (besan) or mash boiled potatoes.
Oats cutlets can be shallow fried or baked.
