I got this recipe from my building’s electrician. While fixing a switchboard, he mentioned his wife’s cooking and how she packs new food items for his lunch every day. The way he described it made me ask for the recipe of that day’s menu. He texted it to me later.

I made it that weekend. My husband said it had a grounded touch, and the boys said, “It has current!” Now, it is our weekday energizer. That chat reminded me how even short conversations during chores can turn into memorable meals—and that recipes often travel through stories of everyday labor and love.

Notes

I prefer removing the edges of the bread slices. It adds to the softness of the nuggets.
I have used ginger and garlic paste separately. You may use the readymade ginger-garlic paste.
Ensure the nugget mixture is coarse. This renders a unique taste in every bite.
Always fry the nuggets on a low to medium flame or else the outside will burn quickly while the inside will remain uncooked.
