Notes

Dry roasting the sesame seeds is a crucial step. Make sure the flame is low and you stir them continuously until they turn golden brown. This will prevent them from burning and becoming bitter. It will add to the rich flavor and nuttiness.
Always use fresh ingredients to make til ke laddu. Fresh sesame seeds, ghee, and molten jaggery will augment the overall taste, flavor, and texture of the sweet dish.
Melt the jaggery to a smooth liquid without any lumps so that sweetness spreads evenly in across all laddus.
Use the ghee for shaping the laddus judiciously. Do not add to much of it so that it overpowers the natural taste and flavor of the sesame seeds. Typically, the ghee is used to help in binding the mixture and not to make it greasy.
Do not press the mixture too hard with your hands while shaping the laddus. I gently roll them between palms in a circular motion to form small balls and prevent them from falling apart.
