How to Make Goda Masala Powder? (Step by Step Guide with Images)

Step 1: Take a wok or a frying pan and heat it on your gas stove. Put 4 tbsp of white oil in it when it is hot enough.

Step 2: When the oil is hot enough, add 1 cup of coriander seeds.

Step 3: Now, add 1 tbsp of cumin seeds to it.

Step 4: Then put about 20 pieces of cloves into the wok.

Step 5: Now, add about 20 to 25 pieces of black pepper to the ingredients in the wok.

Step 6: Follow it with 3 cinnamon sticks of 1-inch size.

(Pro tip: You may break them into small pieces if you want).

Step 7: Stir everything in the wok nicely.

Step 8: Fry it for about a minute or two so that the oil is mixed properly and the spices are cooked nicely and you can smell the aroma of the fried spices.

Step 17: When you notice a slight change in the color of the spices, turn the flame of your gas stove off. Let the spices cool down completely.

  • I prefer using best quality white oil and suggest you to do the same. This adds to the authentic rich taste of the masala mix.
  • Roast the spices till you smell the natural aroma.
  • Cool them down completely before grinding.
  • I usually grind in short intervals to get a smooth texture. Do the same.
  • You may alter the spice levels according to your taste preference.
