I learned to make this dosa from my South Indian roommate in my college hostel. She is a lovely woman and always insisted that I learn making dosa as it is healthy and very easy to make. So, I wrote down the steps in my notebook. I made it for the first time when I came home during my vacation.

After marriage I make it often for my husband and sons as a quick breakfast or a meal. They love to have it with coconut chutney or a veg dish. I now feel so happy and lucky to have learned this recipe from my friend.

Notes

You can use any variety of rice to make neer dosa but ensure the grains are small.
You can soak rice for 5 to 6 hours but I soak it overnight because it helps in making softer dosa.
Add water gradually while blending. Do not add too much water as there will be moisture in the rice and coconut.
Ensure the batter is smooth. Grind it twice if needed. The thinner the batter, the better the dosa will be.
You may have to add more water to the batter while making the dosa because it will thicken by itself automatically.
