I actually learned this recipe from our home priest. He usually has this dish for breakfast at home and also after fasting and performing a ritual. He was kind enough to describe the process and ingredients, which are easy to remember.

When I first made it at home, I was surprised to see that my two sons liked it very much and finished their portion without any complaints. Their father too appreciated the taste of the Sabu makha. Now, it features often in breakfast and especially after fasting in Shiv Ratri and Karwa Chaut.
